I have made this recipe twice now. Both times information technology was very proficient. However the second fourth dimension I used a cake mix that chosen for 3 eggs so I added a forth as the recipe said. (add together an extra egg!) Don't practice that. Three eggs is plenty the along makes it just too heavy. It was even so good but comparing it to the first cake it was non as good. For all-time results use the strawberry foam cheese, at that place is something about it that just makes a difference. I used the regular foam cheese the second time and just added a tablespoon of strawberry preserves and it tasted very good but was non equally good as when I used the strawberry cream cheese. Every bit for the icing I did the icing that was suggested the first time and it was practiced merely all the things the other reviewers said I plant to be true. Just realize that it will exist a little hard to work with. The 2nd cake I used the icing recipe that I establish on hither several years agone and information technology has been my stand up by since. 1 cup of whipping cream whipped with 1 box of instant pudding(I utilise foam cheese flavour) and then fold information technology into a 8 oz tub of cool whip. It is overnice and strong and tastes great. Information technology compliments this block well.

Everybody loved this. I made it in a 13X9 canvas pan for easy send. I also used strawberry cream cheese in the cake, and unsweetened strawberries (measured earlier I pureed them) with ii.5 T sugar added. Everything mixed upwards fine in my mixer afterward a few minutes. The cake broiled in about 32 minutes, and was moist but not soggy. The frosting was also succulent- make sure the foam cheese is at room temp. and the whipped topping is thawed for it to mix well. If assembling a layer cake, the frosting would definitely need to be refrigerated in order to concord, likewise as subsequently the block is made or it volition fall apart. Otherwise, this was piece of cake and just succulent!

This is a peachy cake simply lousy instructions. The reason everyone is having such a difficult time with frosting is the whipping foam should be chilled after you melt the chocolate in it. Then when cold, it should be browbeaten until stiff peaks course. Then vanquish in the foam cheese. Stir in the cool whip last.I only used half of a 8 oz tub. Was plenty of frosting. The 2nd trouble withe recipe was mixing the cake. The order is all wrong! Beat the cream cheese outset until polish, then add together eggs one at a time (do not add but 3 eggs)Then add the cake mix. Batter will exist thick. The third problem is broil time. Information technology is more like 30-35 minutes. That is why some are having issues with it being wet and soggy. Other than poor directions this cake is awesome! Done right, that frosting is great!

Everyone loved this cake! Ane tip for the frosting, though...it didn't get thick enough to employ fifty-fifty after cooling, then I beat it with an electric mixer for a couple of minutes. The heavy cream helped information technology get business firm, but even so light and flossy, after mixing.

This block is fantastic, have made it 5 times. It's one of the few never-neglect recipes! Didnt' have store-bought block mix, so I used the Cake Mix from Scratch recipe from this site. Strawberry gustation isn't potent enough for my liking, rectified somewhat using extra one tbs strawberry extract. Tastes MUCH ameliorate when cold, similar a light cheesecake. Potential candidate for the small cake business organization I'1000 setting up! Too, bake in the lower HALF, not the lower THIRD, of the oven, to forestall the tiptop cracking.

Hands down one of the best cakes I have always made. At first I thought I did something wrong considering the concoction was very thick and dense, and I thought information technology wouldnt ascent well. But it ended up smashing and only lasted a few hours. The Best strawberry cake. If you're having trouble deciding on a recipe definately effort this one kickoff! It is a very moist, creamy cake. The just thing I changed was the frosting because I wanted something simple. I used the frosting from the Strawberry Cream Block recipe. It is very light and not too sweet. Perfect for this cake.

Made this cake today for my daughters birthday. Wow!!! I did it in a bundt pan (broiled for 55 min)split it in half, put some of the frosting and sliced strawberries in the heart and then frosted. I covered some strawberries in milk chocolate and drizzled the rest over the white frosting --- very impressive. This is sure a keeper!
08/29/2007
I made this cake for a little daughter's altogether political party. The cake part is Fantabulous; I used a white cake mix and used egg whites instead of the extra egg. Nice, dense, moist, rich cake; I'd definitely brand it again. I layered it with the frosting and a homemade strawberry-almond filling. The frosting was pretty adept. I found that if I stored the block in the fridge, the frosting got very grainy. If the frosting was room-temp, it was perfectly smoothen and creamy. So as long as yous don't chill the frosting, this is a wonderfully delicious cake.

I'm not even much of a fan of fruit in my cake, but I made this for a bridal shower, and it was absolutely delicious. The texture and flavor brand it hard to believe that it isn't from a baker. I had a little problem getting the layers out of the pan cleanly, so next time I will definitely apply parchment paper or wax paper. I besides chilled the frosting overnight before putting it on the cake and had no trouble with it non being thick enough. It was merely a fantastic combination of white chocolate and strawberries!
05/06/2007
I fabricated this cake for my married man for his birthday and information technology was Cracking! Doesn't taste AT ALL like it came from a cake mix. I used Splenda sweetened strawberries and they worked nifty. Too used 1/3 less fat in the cake and I don't recollect the cake suffered at all. I baked in a 13x9" pan - which I'm glad because the cake is so moist and the icing was abit thin. I poked holes the cake before frosting so teh icing could run downward in it. HMmmm. Volition keep this 1 for more summer strawberries!

I made this cake for my moms altogether because she LOVES strawberries. I read all the reviews and decided to brand this cake using a Golden Vanilla cake mix, leaving out the oil, simply using three eggs, used strawberry cream cheese, and of course the pureed strawberries. The cake turned out PERFECT! I broiled it for about 28 minutes, and my toothpick test really came out make clean. It was dumbo like a homemade cake is supposed to be. But not overly and so. I also waited till the block was absurd covered them and put them in the fridge overnight. This cake needs to be kept cold. For the frosting I made it according to the directions except I used strawberry foam cheese. I didnt have whatsoever problems with my white chocolate and foam cheese melting, I whipped information technology all together using my Kitchenaid mixer. But even after waiting for information technology to cool and then adding the Cool Whip and letting it sit in the coldest part of my fridge overnight it was very liquidy. So I put it in my deep freezer until the edges started to freeze, whipped it at the highest speed on my KitchenAid, and added 2 heaping tablespoons of confectioners carbohydrate. Information technology was absolutely PERFECT! The best frosting I accept e'er had. My cake got rave reviews, both my mom and my aunt said it was the all-time cake they had e'er had in their whole lives. I put a thin layer of frosting and strawberries in betwixt the layers, and garnished the block with sliced strawberries and chocolate covered strawberries. Cheers for a peachy recipe!

So I didn't have all the bug other people were having with the cake beingness soggy in the middle I tried this equally a cupcake recipe. They didn't really have a strong strawberry flavour, I even used strawberry cream cheese every bit suggested by other reviewers. The recipe itself was pretty simple and so I'll probably stick with this one but alter it a flake, since this was only the exam run. Side by side time I'll add a couple teaspoons of strawberry extract. Also because of the bad reviews I didn't fifty-fifty attempt the icing. Instead I used the one suggested by Grandma Lizzy. 1 loving cup whipping cream mixed with ane box instant pudding (she suggested cream cheese flavor simply I used white chocolate) then fold into eight oz. absurd whip. It was exactly what I was looking for, light like whipped cream yet stiff enough to utilise equally cupcake incing.

9This block was wonderful. Some reviews said the cake was to sugariness, but I don't call back they are cake eaters. Some reviews said that the cake was not fluffy enough, merely I think they did not shell the eggs enough. I did make a few changes. I used strawberry cream cheese as suggested by other reviewers, i too beat the eggs seperatly until they were fluffy earlier calculation them to the cake mix. Strawberries were non in flavor when I made the block, so I sliced and sweetend them. I used 2 quarts of strawberries instead of one and put strawberries between the cake layers. Too some reviewers complianed that the frosting was hard to work with, so I made the frosting start and put information technology in the fridge while I prepared the residuum of the cake. I let kept the cake in the fridge overnight, until information technology was time to serve. The side by side time I make the cake, I will make it the same way I made information technology this time.
04/12/2008
Very tasty. I would, all the same, non try to stack the layers (the icing is very slipperty). Side by side time I make this, I volition put in a dish with sides so I can spoon it out rather than trying to layer and cut information technology. I might add together a few more strawberry'south, also.

I've made this cake about 10 times now. It is probably ane of my favorite cakes ever. Every fourth dimension I brand information technology, people freak out over how succulent and perfect information technology is. Information technology does take some work, and it's a bit expensive, but it's worth it. Y'all must keep information technology refrigerated, for taste and structural integrity. But, I make the cake with chocolate cake mix instead of white cake mix. I've made it both ways, but chocolate cake mix is MuchMuch better. I've seen a lot of complaints about the frosting. I've had trouble with information technology too, only it'southward one of the best parts well-nigh the block, so don't skip information technology! What I've washed if it is too thin, is chill it for a while, or add more foam cheese, and so whip it upwards overnice and thick with a mixer. Delicious.
04/22/2003
This is an excellent cake...I have fabricated information technology twice and both times information technology was splendid! Everyone that tasted it loved it and asked for the recipe! I take read some of the complaints well-nigh the icing and all I can say is they must have not taken the time to practice information technology properly! I did non get information technology right the showtime time considering I did not allow the mixture cool completely before adding the cool whip! If you lot let information technology cool completely earlier folding in the absurd whip it will come out perfectly! This is past far my favorite cake(I am usually a chocolate lover!) and everyone that has eaten it has fallen in love with information technology! I as well garnish it with white chocolate covered strawberries! Cheers for a great recipe!!!!!!
03/14/2009
SOOOOOOOOOO FAB! I followed the recipe- used strawberry cream cheese like other suggested. I fabricated them into cupcakes (24) and used this icing recipe to frost them- to 'firm upwardly' the frosting so information technology wouldn't baste off- I threw in one box of instant pudding- cheesecake flavor- viola! Perfect consistency! These were a MAJOR hit at the bday party we took 'em to!
05/15/2011
I've fabricated this several times for parties and work events. Very moist! So much better than typical strawberry block mixes due to the existent frozen strawberries. One recommendation: don't overblend the strawberries, be sure to leave it just a bit chunky!
08/sixteen/2011
I was so excited to make this, but the final result wasn't what I was hoping for. Information technology didn't wow me AT ALL. The frosting was thin and didn't hold up well, fifty-fifty afterwards chilling the whipping cream / chocolate and whipping afterwards. I broiled for 30 min. and didn't accept problem with information technology not setting. This cake wasn't worth the try it took to make in my opinion. Update!! I reviewed with two stars, just am going to upward it to 4 because seriously, I couldn't quit eating this cake. It actually was pretty good! I would put more than strawberries on the top next time, equally the bites with stawberries were my favorite! I might make this once more, but try a different frosting.
02/15/2009
This cake is Awesome, I've made two...just yous can't follow the recipe exactly. Anyone with any cooking common sense volition know that the frosting is Mode to runny...I chill it for at least 30 min before putting information technology on the cake. I also chilled the frosted cake overnight and and then added the berries the next mean solar day. I likewise used strawberry foam cheese. Very dense, Very delicious (I recommend chill cake overnight earlier serving) Will definitley brand once again!! Pics on my profile.

Yummy, yummy, yummy! I made this cake with "Sturdy Whipped Cream Frosting" instead of the frosting recipe it comes with, since it was for my piddling one's showtime birthday cake. The cake was FANTASTIC, it reminds me of real strawberry ice cream. Every invitee at my party had two pieces, and I got rave reviews!
04/24/2011
I fabricated this for Easter, and it was a large hitting. I made the recipe as is, and it turned out beautifully. I did melt the white chocolate with the cream the dark before and put information technology in the fridge until I was almost gear up to serve. Then I mixed information technology with the whipped topping and put the block together. I'll definitely make this again.
02/22/2010
This was a very tasty dessert, nevertheless, I managed to screw it upward! I need to acquire to be patient! When doing the frosting, I figured that the foam mixture was cooled enough, it was only slightly warm, and so I mixed in the cool whip! Bad idea. Wait until it is COMPLETELY cooled earlier adding the absurd whip. My frosting was more like a thick soup than a nice light topping! The sense of taste was slap-up, appearance....not so nice! Regardless, I had no leftovers!
07/25/2001
Maybe I did something wrong???? Yes, the cake was good, overnice and moist. But both layers savage in the heart when I took information technology out of the oven. Also, my icing didn't piece of work right. Talk nearly an ugly block!:-) I doubt I'll make information technology once more.
03/23/2009
This cake is GREAT!!! My father can't get enough of it. He said it was one of the best cakes he had always had. It's very moist which I like a lot. I added strawberry jello to the cake mix to give it a really pretty pinkish colour. It is a very attrative block, great for company. I likewise added the strawberry cream cheese to the cake function and regular cream cheese to the frosting function. Speaking of the frosting role. That was the only matter that was a little difficult for me. I had a difficult fourth dimension with it and like some of the others added pudding mix to it in order to get a more than business firm consistancy. Overall, it turned out a strong 5 star, merely something is off with the frosting office.
01/12/2007
OMG, I am sitting here eatting the top crusties with some java & I am in heaven!!! I am not planning on frosting the cake with the white chocolate since I am roofing it with fondant, only I tin can only imagine how heavenly information technology would taste with the white chocolate icing. Too, I didn't have sweetened frozen strawberries, mine were unsweetened, soooo, I thawed them in the microwave a little, put 3 tablespoons of sugar over them, let them sit down a few minutes & pureed them in the blender with 2.v tablespoons of white wine. This is to die for! I can't believe how absolutely yummy it is. I can't wait to have it to my sisters birthday tomorrow.
01/29/2012
Rating the cake; didn't make the icing. Cake is wonderful, lots of flavor, moist, and dense.
07/18/2011
I turned these into cupcakes which turned out really good. I did iv oz cream cheese and one/two loving cup sour foam. I besides added a bit of red food colouring for a darker colour cupcake. And piped some strawberry glaze into the centers, dusting with icing sugar in an endeavor to recreate a care for from a local eatery. Very happy with the results!
04/22/2008
Fantastic. I refrigerated the frosting after mixing, which firmed information technology upward and allowed me to pipe decorations on the cake.
01/08/2007
I didn't treat this cake, nor did my family unit. It was very hard to get the lumps out of the frosting. I would agree that whipping the cream cheese showtime might help. The frosting had a expert flavor, but it was very rich and heavy. The block itself was not super flavorful. Also, it had an unappealing color. Maybe calculation red food coloring might aid. I will not be making this cake again.
12/13/2003
I fabricated this recipe for my bf'due south birthday and it was good. It was very nice. I'm more of a chocolate person. Y'all won't have any bug with the icing, if yous let the mixture cool before adding the cool whip. I made the white chocolate/cream/foam cheese mixture the nighttime before, and let it stand at room temperature while making the cake. I used real whipped cream for the icing. It was a overnice cake!
08/21/2006
This is possibly the worst cake I've always made/tasted. I am giving it a 2-star because the frosting turned out nicely. The cake itself was banal, despite the fact that I tasted the batter and it tasted fine. The texture was a cantankerous between cake and cheesecake but reminded me of a dense bread pudding. Perhaps I was looking for a more cake-like texture... but information technology only didn't gustation proficient. I would recommend mixing the cream cheese until almost whipped before calculation it to the chocolate and hot heavy cream for a smoother consistantcy. (Strangely, I mixed the cream cheese for the cake but not the frosting. Could this exist the reason that the cake turned out the way it did???) I brought this to a minor dinner political party and nobody raved about it, although somebody did like it considering it wasn't likewise sweet. I will non be making this once more.
07/04/2011
BEST strawberry cake always. And the icing is sky! I did use the strawberry foam cheese as some suggested and used a piffling strawberry extract. Dear THIS RECIPE!!!
12/09/2003
Thankyou Beth. This block, while incredibly rich, is out of this earth!!! I have fabricated it for several broil sales and potlucks and each time veryone tin't believe its not from a bakery. I apply fresh whipped cream, the fakeness of absurd whip has always been a plow upward. Simply everything is perfect most the recipe. Hut brand certain to let EVERYTHING absurd before adding the cool whip to the frsodtin :) This one is a winner!!
06/23/2011
I made mine in a 9x13. Im glad considering the icing was too sparse. Information technology have a very different texture. almost chewy similar. I will take the advise of other reviewers and tweek it more next fourth dimension.
01/28/2009
I was apprehensive about making this afterward reading all the reviews, only I thought it looked tasty so i went ahead and made it. Unfortunately, I should have listened to my instinct and chosen another recipe.I idea this was a tedious cake that was time consuming and expensive without peachy terminate results. The frosting was weird likewise, information technology tasted kinda funky and really stiff so I simply mixed well-nigh one-half of information technology with the whipped topping...Still kinda of a strange flavor.I wasn't a big fan. The cake comes out kind of grayish pink, which really isn't appetizing, and does not have a strong strawberry flavor. Basically this cake is certainly edible, just non worth the bother. In fact, the all-time role of the cake was the fresh strawberries I put on top.
06/17/2008
Yes, it was dense; yes, the icing was drippy if it wasn't refrigerated; but the fact remains that this cake is dense and succulent. If you're aware of the above two issues going in, and y'all're non expecting a low-cal and blusterous layer block, and then you lot're in for a treat. One of my kids likened it to a muffin texture--and it was wonderful. I followed the recipe using the suggestion of strawberry cream cheese, and I also used but egg white, as opposed to the whole eggs. I fabricated the icing the 24-hour interval before and kept it in the fridge over night, frosted the cake the next day and and then kept it in the fridge. It was lovely--lots of rave reviews. Thank you for the post.
04/xiv/2007
This block was very moist and dense. However, the strawberry flavor was very subtle. My son guessed that it was banana at first. Also, it is a foreign color. The frosting was good and fluffy, I would brand the frosting once more, but probably non the cake.
01/11/2012
I am in loooove with this cake so was everyone else !!!! information technology was delicious and moist and perfect !!!!! I as well used strawberry foam cheese and Accept Fourth dimension with your icing I did and it came out excellent I remember the key with the icing was after whipping it put information technology dorsum in the freezer to stiffen it before icing your cake. Also equally others propose i used red food coloring and it was a niceer color :) so happy I found this I volition exist making it for many occasions information technology is nice and lite.
05/19/2011
I'm not sure how this recipe got so many stars and tastes like this? It's actually a little bitter, despite having a cake mix and sweetened berries in it, and the colour, although a pretty pink equally a batter, bakes up to an virtually greyness. I was so disappointed! I'm an avid baker and take a cupcake business on the side and desire a great strawberry cake recipe..... this was non it. Pout.
06/24/2011
Very delicious cake, but wasnt prepared for how thin the frosting was
08/22/2011
I am a novice in the kitchen. Step 2 confused me but after the tertiary fourth dimension I figured out instead of using water use the strawberries. It was an easy cake to make. unfortunately I forgot the cool whip so I had to make the whip topping from heavy foam etc. I used strawberry cream cheese in both the cake and the topping as someone else suggested and added in 4 oz of vanilla pudding. my white cake mix called for just egg whites, just I used the whole egg. I personally don't eat cake. This was made for a family gathering Anybody loved it! someone commented "oh this is so good . This is a homemade block" Yeah betty crocker and I made it right at home. I will make this again I doubled the recipe but next time will only use 2 8x8 pans instead of 3 and don't double. block was tall. couldn't fit the slices on the plate
xi/23/2010
This was tasty, but very dense. It may be my fault, because I didn't add the extra egg, as I thought the 3 called for would suffice. My crazy husband wanted chocolat frosting, so it would probably exist better counterbalanced with a lighter, whipped cream type frosting.
06/14/2009
A ton of work for a mediocre dessert. Frosting was very runny. I have to admit the cake was very moist and "pudding-like" as advertised, merely did not wow me by any means.
02/16/2008
This recipe was wonderful, a keeper in my collection. I made information technology in a middle shaped jump form pan for valentines twenty-four hours. Decorated the top with halfed strawberries and drizzled white chocolate over the tiptop. And so, every bit a final touch on, I added white chocolate shavings. It was so pretty, I didn't desire to cut into it, simply it was even better once I did. Block was moist, perfect!
03/10/2008
I made this cake for my seven yr one-time'southward birthday. He was impressed by the photo. I duplicated the look of the white fluffy cake with the fresh strawberries on top and he loved it. Nonetheless, I constitute the cake much too fourth dimension consuming for the flavor. I could all the same tell it was from a mix (I hate mixes) but others could not, so take that for what it's worth. I thought the white chocolate frosting was pretty proficient, but in comparison to the cost and prep time of the old famous absurd whip and vanilla instant pudding recipe, I do not think this ane was worth it. Next fourth dimension I volition apply the other possibly substituting the cream for milk and whipping information technology every bit I did here to get a squeamish stiff, merely still fluffy frosting. I did not think at that place was likewise much frosting, by the way. I fabricated my own fresh strawberry filling with cornstarch and filled between the layers that style. One person commented they felt that part was "essential" to the flavor of the cake. It was good, but comments nearly the color brand me wish I had remembered the reddish nutrient coloring mentioned by another poster. Likewise, it is SOO fattening! Holy Moly! I call up there would be a lot of ways to become similar flavor without all that cream cheese, chocolate and eggs! Overall, I think my son liked it considering of the whipped cream and fresh berries. Information technology was a skilful cake and most everyone was pretty impressed and then I gave it 3 stars.
06/17/2002
I didn't add employ the frosting in this recipe and so I'm not sure on how gd is it. But the cake is absolutely swell! This is the cheesecake recipe I had been looking! The foam cheese actually makes a difference in the texture and taste of the block. Thanx for posting this recipe!
03/15/2008
i did this wonderful block today was realy practiced and very moist. i forgot to add the oil in the cake mix and information technology did not touch abit.will do over again.
04/13/2009
VERY YUMMY! Fabricated for a birthday girl who LOVES strawberries, I used strawberry cream cheese instead of original and cooled the frosting before frosting the cake and put it back in the refrigerator to allow set and presto All-time STRAWBERRY CAKE EVER!! Thank you a ton!
09/25/2008
Nifty summertime cake. Delicious. Made exactly as written except I used a 9x13 pan. Needs to exist refrigerated to keep frosting set. I fabricated this for a co-workers birthday and everyone raved! I even received compliments from her husband who was lucky enough to get leftovers. Thanks for the recipe!
04/16/2012
Excellent. Definitely use the strawberry cream cheese instead of plain. And I opted for the lighter frosting that consisted of heavy whipping foam, Cool Whip and cream cheese pudding. I keep getting requests to make more.
03/02/2009
I did not intendance for this block.
08/07/2008
And so easy to make, merely a little time consuming, however, definitely worth it! I thought this cake was delicious and extremely moist. I used the proffer from another reviewer and used strawberry cream cheese instead of regular cream cheese, which I call back rounded out the strawberry flavor. I was a petty leery well-nigh the doneness of the cake, since the cake wasn't completely business firm and the toothpick wasn't make clean-merely as someone previously mentioned, that is the way it is suppose to exist. The frosting was piece of cake and instead of cream cheese I used mascarpone cheese, it tasted delicious! I received great reviews!
05/eleven/2009
I made this for my families Mother'due south Twenty-four hours picnic and was very leary after reading the neg reviews but, already had bought all the ingredients. I was pleasantly surprized. I would definetly recommend this cake to be refrigerated the night before as well as the frosting then frost it the adjacent 24-hour interval. If you do this the frosting will not exist runny and volition stay on the cake. It thickened upwards the side by side twenty-four hour period. My cake was a nice pink colour in the inside was very moist and had a squeamish remainder with the foam cheese, white choc and whipped cream. Everyone loved information technology and said it looked nice.
02/x/2012
This cake was no dream. A scrap more like a nightmare, at least as far equally prep is concerned. Information technology looked deceptively elementary, merely white cake mix, frozen strawberries and foam cheese and with a really high rating from a lot of people. After reading all of the reviews I made a ton of changes and I hope information technology works out only if information technology doesn't that is o.g. as I have another cake recipe lined up but in example. Here are the changes I made. I added ane/viii teaspoon red nutrient dye to brand sure it was nice and pinkish. I also added 1 tsp strawberry extract to brand sure it tasted really strawberry-y. I did not add an extra egg (in this case egg white). I also used strawberry cream cheese instead of regular. So I basically put all the moisture ingredients in the blender, I can't quite be sure how much frozen strawberries I had, (I used my own in the freezer) considering it wouldn't blend for me to mensurate it but I would guestimate almost 1 ane/2 cups, to these I added 2 TBS sugar. I also put in ane/iii cup water. And then the oil, the egg whites and so the foam cheese and extract. Then I merely followed the box directions and basically mixed the dry and the wet with a hand mixer and added the food coloring at that time. Everything turned out good. It wasn't the all-time block in the world but it was pink and information technology definitely had a good strawberry flavour. The texture was practiced, kind of spongy and moist but not and then moist as I like information technology but not dry either.
01/20/2005
Yummy, Yummy good!! I would advise whipping the foam cheese before making frosting likewise. If you just keep whisking the cream cheese, milk, chocolate mixture it eventually gets smooth. Then let it absurd ALL THE WAY before adding cool whip. Great with fresh strawberries, also. I used fresh instead of frozen. A+ KIDS Honey Information technology
03/31/2004
Presentation was wonderful. I had no problems with the frosting as others did, however my guests and I did not care for the pudding-similar consistency of the cake. I would take much preferred to cook it longer for the block to set amend. Agreeing with another reviewer, this cake is much better cold.
01/sixteen/2002
Slap-up frosting--permit information technology cool in the fridge and yous won't have any bug frosting the cake. A whole-family unit hitting!!
06/26/2009
This cake was absolutely amazing -- I generally avert block mix recipes because I find they gustatory modality besides much like chemicals, simply that certainly doesn't employ to this 1. I used the Duncan Hines super moist white cake mix, used only iii egg whites, ii tbsp of oil and used low-fat Philly strawberry cream cheese. I took information technology out of the oven at 25 minutes and information technology was cooked perfectly. Afterward cooling information technology, I frosted it with another white chocolate frosting from this site, simply to upwards the strawberry flavor a bit, I put a thick layer of strawberry jam betwixt the ii layers of cake and topped it with a layer of the frosting before putting the superlative block layer on. I then refrigerated it for a nighttime before serving it, and the end event was a super moist, dense, but even so cake-like cake. It was absolutely amazing, fresh tasting, strawberry-tastic and delicious! It won rave reviews from everyone at dinner. In fact, my female parent in police, who never has more than one small-scale piece of cake, asked for seconds. Thanks for an incredible recipe, Beth! This one will get into my permanent file!
11/fifteen/2010
WOW this cake is so delicious! I only used half the cream cheese & it didn't plow out too moist like other reviewers accept said. As well, used un-sweetened frozen strawberries & but added 2 tsps. of powdered sugar to those strawberries. The frosting is delicious but does not stay well. I don't recommend this frosting for a 2 layer cake but would exist great if you're doing a sheet fashion. It sort of "deflated" in the fridge and the ii layers of my block slipped apart. I am trying this again today with a unlike frosting.

A big thumbs down for this cake!! The cake was no great shakes and the frosting was a nightmare. It was very runny and it didn't harden up later on putting it in the refrigerator. Would absolutely never brand it again. There are much better cake recipes on this website.

I was not real impressed with this recipe. Just a word of advice, refrigerate the icing for a couple of hours.

I made this yummy tasting cake for my hubby on our ane year nuptials anniversary and he loved it!! It took a fiddling longer to bake in the oven than described in the recipe just it turned out very moist! I melted the white chocolate before I mixed in the cool whip and put it in the freezer to let information technology thicken before frosting the cake. Great cake and information technology has a wonderful flavor!
08/04/2009
Fabled, volition definitely make information technology again and again. The only thing that was hard was to figure out how long to bake it (I made it in a specialty pan). The tooth pick wont come out clean. And if it does come out clean, its overbaked and dry.
04/28/2009
I made some changes, so I'm giving this v *s based on the finished product. I used a French vanilla cake mix, added an actress egg white, and left out the oil (that function was adventitious). I added a couple of drops of red food coloring to the batter to annul the grayness. I was worried about the cream cheese lumps in the batter, but they didn't affect the texture of the cupcake. (Next fourth dimension I volition alloy the cream cheese first with the eggs and some of the strawberry puree.) The recipe made exactly 72 mini cupcakes (baked for 17 minutes). The texture was fluffy and light, and at that place was plenty of strawberry flavor. Maybe those who didn't go the flavor tuckered the strawberries? The recipe didn't specify, so I pureed them with the syrup. I topped them with a vanilla buttercream and slice of strawberry. They tasted similar little strawberry shortcakes, but amend. Everyone loved them!

I made the block version of this for my daughter's birthday. The cake was a striking. I did use a different frosting equally I was making a "hello kitty" block. The only change I made was to use a strawberry block mix to start with.

This is a genius recipe. I fabricated it for Fathers Day this past weekend and it was the talk of the day. I wouldn't change anything about this recipe.

OH SO Practiced! The but problem I had was with the frosting beingness a soupy mess at first and I thought I had ruined the cake! I put it in the fridge and let it sit down for a few hours and information technology was PERFECT! I ever use Dream Whip instead of Cool Whip because it is cheaper and super good, just I don't think that should take made a big divergence. Side by side time, I will cool my frosting for a few hours before I frost the block. SUPER Skillful!
01/06/2007
This cake was pretty good. I had none of the bug some other reviewers mentioned. The block was indeed very moist. I kept information technology in the oven 25 minutes and it was perfect. To speed up the cooling process I put it in the freezer before frosting. When making the frosting I waited for the white chocolate mixture to completely cool before adding the whipped topping. The consistency was perfect and I was able to ice the cake all effectually simply fine. The flavors of both the cake and the frosting were very good, and they were a skillful combination. I didn't enjoy it that much, but I'm not a huge strawberry fan. I did like that it was very different tasting, in a good way. But even my young man who does not like sweets (to my chagrin) enjoyed this cake. I recommend it! Make sure yous store it in the refrigerator. I served it 4 hours afterwards making it, never putting information technology in the refrigerator, and the center layer of frosting squeezed out a flake from the pressure of the pocketknife cutting into the cake.

I wanted to make a cake for Thanksgiving and chose this block. Pressed for fourth dimension I rushed in making it and left out the oil that the block mix chosen for. Fortunately, I didn't need it! The cake was perfect without it. The only problem actually was with the frosting. At that place was way too much and it took forever to brand (it takes a while to thicken). Other than that this cake is amazing. I think I had 2 slices and my dad ate the rest in 1 twenty-four hour period.

Excellent.. I used fresh strawberries instead of frozen and added some sugar.. got rave reviews from the family. The whipped frosting alone is decadent and to die for.
11/05/2005
This cake was very good! I used this recipe for a tiered block and layered fresh strawberries into every layer. I decorated this cake with buttercream icing merely used the recipe included with this posting as filling. Information technology is a very light icing and not suitable for 'decorating'. The icing is very proficient though.
02/fourteen/2010
This block was to die for! I fabricated it as is... although for an extra special touch, busy the block with chocolate covered strawberries. My married man loved this (and and so did I)!
05/23/2000
This block was the best cake I've ever tasted. My mom said she never tasted such a moist cake with such a combination of flavors. It didn't last long in my business firm.
01/18/2009
Good intentions, just the recipe did not work for me! This cake was dense with chunks of cream cheese in information technology. The frosting sounded bang-up, but I did not care for it at all. I even left it in the fridge overnight. When I went to frost the block it merely slipped everywhere. This was like a stawberry nightmare cake for me!
03/14/2011
This cake is amazing! I didn't use the icing though, I did a cream cheese frosting with strawberry cream cheese- absolutely delicious!
04/07/2001
The cake was moist and tasted smashing. But, I had problems with the frosting. It was like trying to frost with lumpy milk. I never got it to thicken or whip up. My husband thought the cake would exist better with regular frosting. Don't think I'd try this cake again.
04/18/2014
Made the cake without the frosting. My cake mix called for one 1/four cups water (which I did substitute with defrosted whole strawberries that I pureed in the blender), and 3 egg whites. I followed some other reviewer'southward tip to only use 3 eggs max, and I used whole eggs since the recipe didn't specify egg whites only. It made exactly 24 cupcakes which came out fluffy and cute!
03/09/2010
This was maybe the WORST block I accept ever tried. It did non take much of a strawberry flavor, disgustingly sweet, and the texture was that of cookie dough (and, yeah, it was fully cooked through). I volition never make this recipe again.
07/06/2007
I made a few adjustments to this recipe but it was still cracking. Instead of using sweetened frozen strawberries, I used fresh strawberries and added a small box of strawberry gelatin. I besides only used 4 oz. cream chz because I forgot to buy enough for the frosting just information technology didn't seem to make a difference. Wasn't crazy about the frosting but I will definitely make the cake again.
08/06/2008
Everybody loved this cake.It was very deliciuos. But the frosting ...I would non use it again.
01/25/2009
This block was absolutely delicious! Post-obit the other's suggestions, I used strawberry foam cheese in the block mix. Very expert. I was a picayune stressed virtually beingness able to tell when information technology was done, but after taking it out and putting it dorsum in several times, I institute the toothpick did actually come out pretty make clean and it'south just necessary to make certain information technology doesn't jiggle. I was making this for a large group of guests and didn't want to venture into the icing this time around and so I just used 1 c. whipping foam mixed with 1 c. milk and instant pudding (cheesecake flavored). Once mixed, I folded information technology into a container of strawberry cool whip - enough of strawberry flavor. Definitely proceed this cake refrigerated. Everybody raved! I'll definitely make this again, thank you!
12/31/2011
This cake is a cute presentation, but the cake was dry and a brownish color. I would take liked the block to be a pretty pinkish color. Next fourth dimension I might use a strawberry block mix. Love the frosting, and I did add an extra 2 oz of cream cheese to thicken.
07/24/2006
Anybody liked the cake and it was pretty easy to brand. I didn't have my circular cake pans so I did it in a 9X13 pan and information technology nevertheless came out great.
10/07/2006
Fantabulous - In my health-conscious family the challenge is normally to cut the dessert small plenty, only when I served this everyone went back for seconds. I accidentally left the foam cheese out of the cake, just it came out dandy. I added powdered sugar to the icing to thicken it upwards a bit and kept the block refrigerated.
05/09/2006
I fabricated this a while back for a Thanksgiving potluck at work. It was a hit, disappearing pretty quickly. Since then, I've fabricated information technology several more times. My husband all the same keeps asking me to make it.
09/22/2008
The block was dense and delicious with plenty of strawberry flavor. I baked the block co-ordinate to the recipe but used strawberry foam cheese instead of patently. I also had to bake the cake longer that specified (about xxx minutes). I used a pudding/cool whip frosting and made a fruit filling from strawberries, saccharide and a piffling water and cornstarch, cooked down and thickened. I layered the cake with the filling and the frosting. The combination was likewise sparse for this fragile cake and it roughshod apart (layers sliding, block nifty, etc.). If I make the cake once again I will make a 9x13, single layer cake and let it sit down in the fridge overnight earlier serving. I think a blueberry version of this cake would exist great, mayhap with a lemon frosting.
05/xvi/2010
The block itself it delicious. I did use the strawberry cream cheese as advised by other reviewers. The frosting was not very good at all. I should take used heavy whipping cream instead of cool whip, maybe that would have made it better. I besides used the strawberry cream cheese in the frosting, which I did not like at all. I'grand serving the cake tomorrow for a birthday celebration at work, and seriously because scraping the frosting off and starting over!
03/06/2003
I made this cake for a coworkers' birthday and it was a hitting! Piece of cake to make - although I recommend pureeing the cream cheese with the thawed berries for a smoother texture. Only criticism is with the icing - very gooey. It was then practiced I made ii and kept 1 for my family!
05/06/2006
This was an splendid cake! I used the frosting as is for the center and top, so mixed the remaining frosting w/some confectioners sugar to thicken information technology up to frost the sides. I think side by side time I will thicken upwards the unabridged batch of frosting w/confectioners saccharide. Otherwise, I wouldn't change a matter. Magnificent reviews from everyone!
08/03/2010
Very good!!
04/09/2010
The cake part was awesome! But, the icing was an absolute disaster!! I followed the directions to a tee and information technology is really runny! I would phone call it a glaze not icing. Next time I will use the cake recipe merely utilize a different icing.
04/eighteen/2010
I made this cake for my daughter's first birthday because she loves strawberries and this block was a striking. I followed one of the reviewers posts about using strawberry cream cheese and and followed the recipe to a T. This cake was so moist and tasty. Keeping this one for sure!
09/10/2011
I have always took pride in my cooking and baking abilities only this 1 took me by surprise! I added fresh strawberry slices between the layers. This cake is across YuMMy!!
01/24/2009
I made this block exactly equally directed but frosted information technology with a buttercream frosting instead of the frosting in the recipe, because I wanted a frosting that would hold up well to pipage and decorating. Every bit far as the cake goes, it is delicous but understand that it is a heavy cake with a like texture to a muffin, and the strawberry flavor is very mild. I would say that if you understand those factors, you will enjoy it, but if yous are looking for a light/fluffy cake texture, go along looking. This block held upward well to a stacked layer cake and I received many compliments on it.
10/06/2010
My husband makes this cake and its crawly! He has made information technology for me 3 times and yes its fourth dimension consuming merely the results are sooooo worth it!
02/16/2004
Made this cake for my wife for Valentines 24-hour interval. She loved it. It was so easy to make and turned out slap-up. I loved the gustatory modality and texture of the cake, and the frosting was out of this globe. I put parchment paper in the cake pans earlier baking and the cakes brutal out hands. Will definetly make once again.
02/24/2009
i love this cake.i was a little disappointed information technology wasn't pink after baking,it was earlier.maybe next fourth dimension i volition add a touch of food coloring.the icing is fantastic.my kids honey it. Rubymcc2001
10/20/2006
The cake was delicious! It'due south quite a lot of frosting though - I have almost one-half of information technology left over.
